Voices of Detroit Initiative (VODI) provides strategic counsel and health technology networking to community groups, provider coalitions and payer on delivery system coordination and change, with special emphasis on safety-net providers. Lucille Smith, Executive Director and the VODI staff have more than a decade of experience organizing the care delivery system for low-income and under/uninsured population in Detroit. VODI is an early pioneer of the Medical Home concept and provided access to Medical Homes for the uninsured for more than 55,000 persons in the Detroit Metro area. Other members of the VODI team have electronic medical record, practice and process management tool and Clinical best practice education and quality enhancements.
Brooklyn Perinatal Network, Inc., Detroit Oral Health Disparities Project University of Michigan, NextDetroit: Health & Human Services Subcommittee (Mayor of City of Detroit Advisory Group) are among the many organizations that Lucille Smith and the VODI team have provided consultation to over past several years.
